The 10% You See, the 90% That Pays
Open anyone’s LinkedIn and you see the same surface: a headline, some posts, a banner, a follower count. It looks like the whole thing. It isn’t. It’s about ten percent of it.
The visible ten percent is what gets you noticed. It matters. But a post can collect attention and never produce a lead. A profile can look impressive and give a visitor nothing to buy. Visibility on its own isn’t a business, it’s a billboard.
The visible part gets you noticed. The system underneath gets you paid.
The other ninety percent is the part nobody posts about, because it isn’t glamorous. It’s the machine that turns attention into income: positioning that makes the right person recognise you in seconds, offers packaged so they’re actually buyable, a way to capture interest before it scrolls away, a follow-up that builds trust on its own, a checkout or a next step, and a pipeline so nothing falls through.
Most people spend all their energy on the ten percent. They rewrite the headline, tweak the banner, chase engagement. Then they wonder why a good month of content produced admiration and no revenue. The admiration is real. It just has nowhere to go.
When I rebuilt my own presence, I did the opposite. I treated the content as the front door and spent most of the work on the rooms behind it. That’s what took it to six figures while I kept managing clients, not posting more, but building the structure that catches what the posts bring in.
If your content is getting attention and not much else, you don’t have a content problem. You have a ninety-percent problem. And that’s the good news, because the ninety percent is buildable.
Keep building
The visible 10% gets you noticed. The 90% gets you paid.
